Join us to discover the wonderful world of wild autumn, from fungi to roots and berries. Come with us to learn the difference in wild mushrooms you see around the UK, and know what you shouldn’t touch!

With our foraging expert, you’re in safe, enthusiastic hands and you even get to come back to the Vegetarian Society Cookery School to cook what you’ve spent the morning picking.

During this session we will cover the basics to the correct identification of wild mushrooms – giving you more confidence to identify them again in the future. Typically people leave the course being able to safely identify 2 key families of mushrooms that are safe to eat, and know how to cook them!

Recipes we are likely to make include:

  • Roasted Dandelion Root Ice Cream
  • Nettle Leaf Seed Soda Bread
  • Wild Flavoured Risotto

11.00: Out on the forage
13.00: Harvest wild food ingredients
13.45: Return to the cookery school for refreshments and re-cap
14.00: Begin cooking & eating
15.30: Eat, debrief and re-cap
