National Tofu Day

Posted on the 29th August 2018

On Saturday 1 September the first official National Tofu Day takes place. It’s a day to celebrate tofu and guess what? The Vegetarian Society is an official partner of National Tofu Day alongside Cauldron Foods.

National Tofu Day is a great idea. I love tofu and it’s time this adaptable ingredient was celebrated. Tofu soaks up flavours and takes on textures – it’s perfect for kebabs, marinades, stir-fries, curries, tofu-bacon, chocolate desserts and even battered tofu, perfect with chips. Our own Tofu Guru cookery course is proving popular with foodies interested in finding out how to master this ingredient. Try it in a recipe today.

Alex Connell, Principal Tutor

Check out the National Tofu Day website for recipes. We’ve also have tofu recipes in our online recipe collection.
